Focus Time Activity Tracker App Reviews

works as intended

a widget would be nice

Good with issue

Good App and works, but the interface is so boring you will fall asleep while trying to work. I switched to an app with less features but a better interface with movement versus a slow moving yellow and green circle. Give the interface a facelift with some excitement and it would be perfect other than make it cross platform like a web version

Best Pomodoro app gets better

This app has really helped me get more work done, and now the update makes it even easier to track time use. I have tried almost every time management app, and this is the one Ive stuck with.

problem with customizing sounds

Overall, a good update. You can now hear the ticking sound even when you lock your device, and the new activity tracker system is also what Ive expected for a long time. However, the start/end sounds of the work/break sessions remain the same even though you have customized them. You can only hear the default sounds when your device is locked. And only when you unlock your device can you hear the sounds youve chosen. I hope you can fix this problem and make it even better. Last but not least, I do prefer the previous dark theme, hope to see it back in the next update!! Keep up the good work!!

One of 3 apps I use most on iPhone!

Review update for ver 3.0 (iOS 7 rewrite): This upgrade is incredible! This was the best Pomodoro timer on AppStore, now after complete rewrite its even better! New features (areas & targets) are huge, yet app remained simple and now has even cleaner UI. Amazing! (I want to tip you guys extra since you gave me so much value with this app; LMK how can I do it!) Original review: This is the best Pomodoro timer by far! Ive downloaded / tried ~20 pomodoro, apps, timers etc., some of which have ToDo lists or other unnecessary things thrown in; this app is clean, simple, intuitive and does just whats needed perfectly, with no unneeded bloat ware or features. Thanks a lot guys!!

r u crazy?

what a ios7 update?! luckily, other apps ios7 updates are not like this one! Ruined!

Great Update…one suggestion.

Fantastic Update….Thanks for adding Landscape Mode for iPhone! I would love to be able to toggle the Activities tracking off. I am not sure if I will use that function and it takes up so much screen space. I would prefer the “Pomodoros Completed Today” information that was in the previous version. Also, can’t seem to find a way to Clear History.

Seriously?

Poorly update. Ugly UI& icon. And pls add the function to set different timing for different activities. One star for new UI&icon.

Excellent Update

As a student, I’ve recorded over 3,000 strictly timed pomodoros using this app. The updated version contains a lot of useful features such as activity categorization, landscape, and better data management. There’s still bugs to work out with some of the sounds and settings, but these are minor and the developer has been very responsive about fixing them as they come up. Having the ability to switch off activities would make a large group of people happy because the GUI has allocated a lot of space to allow for this feature. However, I can see from the developer’s standpoint how having to manage two separate sets of GUIs would be annoying to implement. It’s one of those situations where it’s difficult to please everyone. I’m very happy with the addition of activities. If you do not use activities, I would recommend waiting to update to the new version because that’s really the entire point of the update. As for the new look, I’m not a huge fan, but it’s honestly not that bad. Everyone has their own preference of colors anyways. If you’re serious about using pomodoros to improve your productivity, you really shouldn’t care.

Updated review, regarding the new OS

This is, and has been, one of my favorite and most-used productivity apps. I dont have a huge issue with the OS overhaul the latest update has brought, but to add to/echo a few other reviews on here, I will point out a few things I feel the app has lost in the transition: First, the new graph generator of previous days pomodoros is awful. One of my favorite thing about the old version was the visual connecting each day in a wonderful geometric fashion; reducing it to red bars loses most of that appeal. Secondly, the integration of the Cancel button (previously placed at the bottom of the screen, while the Pause/Resume button was sensibly in the middle of the pomodoro cycle) into the middle button is a huge mistake in terms of design. It is now extremely easy to accidentally cancel out a pomodoro-in-progress when you move to unpause it, should you have to do so. To my mind this is a massive design flaw, especially when the previous version had this issue so well handled. Finally, since the update the sounds of the app play aloud whether the iPhone is silenced or not; this seems unnecessary, and a nuisance when using the app in a public place (where silently running pomodoros might be more appropriate). I hope the devs will take these notes into consideration and make a few small adjustments to re-incorporate some of the better aspects of previous versions back into the app; I have no problem with the redesign as a whole, but it should not impact usability or the aesthetics of the thing. Until then, I’ll be down-grading to version 2.7.

Just great! Really nice to use!

Update: I havent updated from all the cautions here- if you regret the update, go to the Trash, the old version may still be there! If you are trying to tackle thorny tasks, just use this app to keep you on track! Even the chimes are pleasant! I like this app so much, I went to the App Store to find the listing and share how much I love this app! (the opposite of the relentless review nagging so many apps are guilty of) Why are you still reading this? Go download the app- you wont regret it!

Cant change "Reset Counter Time"

Every time I change it, it switches back to 12 AM. Bad.

Excellent app!

Excellent app, and you have all made some excellent upgrades with the latest major update (the syncing I requested previously - great responsiveness). Can you provide support for Launch Center / Launch Center pro (URL scheme support)?

Good with issue

Good app for productivity, like the new interface and features. I found 1 bug. It is not resetting the count, yes I have all the settings correct and turned on and tried different times and app is still not resetting the count. No problem with the old version I had, but this new version is definitely not resetting the count. I have to do it manually. Yes I am on OS7

Almost perfect

Ive tried a few other pomodoro apps, but this is the nicest one by far so far. To get to five stars however, two things are missing: 1. Ability to change colorscheme. - Almost everything else is customizable, why not this too? 2. Ability to hide task, and show timer only (kind of timer fullscreen). This would be very useful, as the tasks take up a lot of space currently.

Favorite pomodoro

Love the design and ease of use. Simple but feature rich. Thanks for helping me stay on task at work. Please release iPad version or Landscape mode.

Love The New Look & Functionality

When I saw the screenshot in the App Store I didnt like the new look. After downloading and using the app, I love it. Nice Job.

Broken

The notification sounds are broken and no longer work. I used to love this app, now its broken. The app makers also released another pomodor app on itunes that looks exactly like this one, and are charging for it. I think they jus want more money. I advise to not purchase.

Sound alarm doesn’t work...

Which makes the app useless because you don’t know when to stop your activity. Bugs take a long time to fix. There’s also a bug that doesn’t allow you to change the time the Pomodoros reset. The interface is too flat and dull. It simply lacks personality. On a positive note, the tracking of different categories is great along with the iCloud sync. I wouldn’t purchase until the major bugs are fixed.
